We went to my nephew's sons 1st birthday party Sunday. It was fun. Everyone had a good time. The kids played in a huge bounce house all afternoon. It was nice seeing people I hadn't seen in years. Monday I had the chiropractor appointment. It went good. I got an adjustment, a little massage with a massage machine thingy, and about 15 minutes on a roller bed  massager. He says I am really tight and have lots of knots. He recommended that I get a massage at the local college for massage therapy. He says they do a good job and it only costs $20 for an hour massage. So I made an appointment for Saturday. Today I have been taking it easy. I started antibiotics last night. My doctor thinks I might have a sinus infection. I've had headaches for the past 2 weeks that won't go away. I've been a little stuffy. So I hope this does the trick. Hubby has me taking Afrin in the morning and at night as well. I do seem to feel a little better today. Tomorrow I have another chiropractor appointment. And after that I am meeting my mom at Sears to get Erin some new clothes. Then later on in the afternoon both the kids have eye doctor appointments. Fun fun fun!!! Erin needs new glasses. She will enjoy picking new ones out.

Are any of you on Facebook? I have re-connected with so many old high school friends on there. It can be addicting though. *lol* So many fun lil apps to play with. And you can chat with all your friends while doing it.

    Blessings!

  • Erin's Birthday Party

The party was a success! The kids all had a great time swimming and hanging out. It was gorgeous outside. Not too hot with a nice little breeze.

The girls were full of energy when they got back to the house. They played with all of Erin's new things. Then we took the kids out for pizza dinner at Mountain Mike's. Yum! I kept the girls entertained for a couple hours telling them stories of real events. They made popcorn and had peanut M&M's & red licorice. They taste good all mixed together. They watched some tv and eventually went to bed. *hehe* This morning I made them scrambled eggs with melted monterey jack cheese mixed in. Then I took the scrambled eggs & ham and made quesadillas with it. They loved it! Kayla didn't want to go home. *lol* They played with water squirt guns outside and even made their own lunch. Amasa took her home around 2pm.

I survived another birthday party/sleep over.

  • This morning I had a chiropractic appointment. It's the first appt. I have made with one in over 10 years. But my neck has been really stiff and tense. And I have been getting tension headaches frequently. So I figured I was due for treatment. The doctor seemed nice and he had me doing all kinds of reflex and strength tests, as well as flexibility. However, what I thought was strange, was that he asked me to have xrays done through my health care provider because he didn't have an xray machine to do them himself. He said he recently parted ways with a group of chiropractors and that they took the xray machine with them. Hmmm....just didn't sit well with me. Obviously he couldn't do a full adjustment on me because he didn't have xrays. So he used an alignment tool instead. It's just not the same thing. Then he asked me to come back next week. I've decided I am going to try another place. I made an appt. for Monday with another Chiropractor.

Erin enjoyed her birthday yesterday. She got spoiled rotten by us as usual. *hehe*

  • I've had the itch to return to blogging lately. I have really missed it. It's such good therapy...getting things off your chest...venting now and again...and just plain sharing. We have moved since I blogged last. Still in the same town, just a different place. The place we were living in, the owners decided to walk away from it and let it go into foreclosure. That brought on a lot of stresses for us, but we are managing. The new place we found is really cute. I am really liking it here so far. Our cats, Pixie & Leo, are adjusting just fine. The kids love the new place as well. Tomorrow is Erin's birthday. She turns 11. We are having a party for her on Friday at the swimming pool. She has invited all her friends and cousins. We will be barbequing hot dogs and having chip & dip, watermelon and of course cake. She will be having one of her friends stay the night. In the morning, Jimmy has a dentist appointment to get a couple fillings. Fun fun. *lol* I hope some of my old xanga friends are still around. I am excited to play catch up with you all.

    Many Blessings,

  • Back to School

    Erin-county fair-horse ride-7-07

    Erin at the County Fair

Isn't this such a cute picture of Erin? She loves horses. The horses name is Root Beer.

Have any of you been watching HGTV's "Design Star"? I was rooting for Sparkle Josh and he got eliminated last night. I am so bummed! How about Vh1's "Rock of Love" with Bret Michaels? Ooooh come on...you know you watch it! And what about "Scott Baio is 45 and Single"? I used to adore Scott Baio when I was young. I had posters of him hung on my wall in my room. But oye....he sure isn't anything I would ever go for. What a mess he is! He definately needs to do some maturing and dump his buddy Johnny V. Yeah...I am hooked on these trashy shows. I admit it!

The kids are back to school and I am trying to get used to getting up early and going to bed earlier. But so far the going to bed earlier hasn't happened. My system is all outta whack! Erin has a really good teacher this year. And Jimmy's teacher seems to be very cool as well. I volunteered to help out Erin's 4th grade class this year. I got a note today asking if I could come in on Thursday for an hour and help out with Math. I sure hope this 4th grade math is something I understand. Math is not my best subject.

We are having Jimmy's 13th birthday party on Saturday. We rented out the high school swimming pool. And reserved a few covered picnic tables that are right next to the swimming pool. Jimmy invited 13 friends. And we invited family as well. I figure we'll bbq hot dogs. And have chips, soda and whatever else I can think of. I'm going to order a chocolate/chocolate cake from Costco per Jimmy's request. Costco's cakes are the perfect size for a big crowd. It's suppose to be like 102 on Sat. So a pool party works out perfectly!

  • Leann Rimes County Fair Concert Pics

Leann Rimes was awesome!!! She sounds just like her cds in person. What a voice this girl has! I just LOVE her!!!! The outdoor concert stage area was jam packed with ppl. We got there approximately 2 hours before the concert started and still couldn't get a seat. People were saving seats (which they aren't suppose to do). And I am not the type of person to be rude. So we found a spot on the right side of the stage and stood there before it filled it. It was definately worth my aching feet and body. *lol* Before the concert started I spotted her husband come out with other tech guys. I told Amasa, that's Leann's husband. He was like, no it isn't. I said yes it is! I have seen him on MTV Cribs. Turns out he saw them mouthing words back and forth to each other during the concert. I was right!

I did indulge last night at the fair. I had a yummy corn dog, a small piece of beef terriyaki, a bbq chicken sandwich after the concert, and a chocolate covered frozen banana with nuts. Mmmm.  Thankfully the scale didn't reflect a gain this morning. Woo Hoo!!! Ooops...I forgot we also bought some kettle korn on the way out. And I had some when we got home. Soooooo YUM!!! The kids have been with their dad for the week. They come home tonight. So we plan on taking them to the fair one day this week. Blake Sheldon is suppose to be there this week. I wouldn't mind seeing him.

I hope you're all enjoying the hot summer weekend! Well....it's HOT here in California.

    Blessings!

    Slumber party survival

     icontease

I survived my daughter's birthday slumber party! It was exhausting but the kids had a blast! And it was all about Erin! There were about 11 kids here. Seven girls and four boys. They started showing up at noon. We had hot dogs, potato salad and chip and dip for lunch. They went swimming, played karaoke, DDR, gamecube, made bead/charm bracelets & necklaces, and did make-overs (the girls). Erin got a new ps2 karaoke game (American Idol) with a microphone from her aunt, uncle and cousins. So now she has 2 mics. The kids just loved having sing offs and competing against one another. For dinner we did pizza. The cake I ordered from Safeway was a cupcake cake. It was really cool. It was 35 cupcakes made to look like a cake. The buttercream frosting was sooooo yummy! We also did an ice cream sundae bar. The kids got to make their own. We had cookies & cream and neopolitan ice cream. I had all kinds of candies and munchies out in bowls for the kids to snack on. Can you say sugar rush? The boys ended up going home around 8pm. And that is when the girls found their second wind. When movie time came, Amasa and I made the girls homemade buttered, salted, cinnamon, sugar popcorn. It was a hit! Around midnite I was getting tired, but the girls were still going strong. My neice had brought the tarot card deck I had bought her for her birthday and wanted me to show her how to use them. So I did readings for her and my other neice. (both 13) I did a reading with a couple of my decks and then one with hers to show her some differences in decks. They were both stunned at how the cards tell the truth. *hehe* Finally by 2am I was really in bad shape and needed to go to bed. I told them all to lay down in their sleeping bags and settle down for sleep. I took a vicodin and went to bed. Unfortunately, the girls were all still spun on sugar and were not ready for sleep. (mostly the younger ones) Amasa got up about 4 times before they finally got quiet around 4am. I woke up around 9am and feed them breakfast of pastries & milk. Most of them were picked up by 10:30am. Only one I had to track down the parent at about 1pm. After that I crashed and burned in my bed and took a much needed nap. I don't see another slumber party happening anytime soon.

I am doing much better recovery wise. The party took alot out of me and I probably over did it, but I really wanted Erin to have a great party. Well I am off to bed. My parents are coming by in the morning to bring over a tv they are not using. We got our Direct TV installed today. I went ahead and had 4 receivers put in. One in the living room, family room, my sons room and our room. We just need a tv for our room. *lol* Now I can be lazy when I want to.

  • 40 lbs Lost!!!

Pixie_Wildflower This morning the scale read 202.2!!! Yes! That is 40 lbs total now that I have lost! Thank you prune juice! *LOL* (long...and not so nice story)

Today was ok. I took off my bandages and showered. The shower was sure nice. Though about 15 minutes into the shower, I got nauseous and had to get right out and sit down. I had hoped to go to the store today, but after that decided it wasn't such a good idea.

The kids are back today from their dads. My daughter is all concerned about her mommy. *smiles* I showed her my owie and she went "eewww". "That's gotta hurt!" *lol*

We decided to cancel the party for this Saturday and change it to next Saturday. Erin called all her friends when she got home and they were all ok with it. I feel much better now.

Tomorrow I have Direct TV coming over to install 4 receivers. I am so unhappy with Dish Network's customer service that I finally decided to cancel them. My son is happy cause we told him we are installing a receiver in his room, as long as he keeps up his grades.

    Blessings!
